BSRIA, a UK-based organisation, has been providing the building services industry with independent research and information for over 50 years. BSRIA’s Worldwide Market Intelligence division is a leading supplier of market intelligence and consultancy services to the global building services arena. And has undertaken research in over 90 countries with a global client base.
Due to a rapid expansion of our business we are seeking staff for our new office in Beijing, which will service the whole of China and other parts of Asia. This responsible role will involve a wide range of general office administration including paperwork control, handling phone calls, maintaining order records and invoicing.
Candidates must be bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin) and have at least one year’s experience in office administration. Candidates must have good IT skills and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, a good telephone manner and be able to work independently on their own initiative. Relevant experience in an accounting role would be a distinct advantage.

Worldwide Market Intelligence (WMI)
BSRIA’s Worldwide Market Intelligence Division enjoys a high profile in the fascinating world of building services technology and related industries. It is arguably the only source of such high quality market research and marketing consultancy services with the market. WMI now consists of several business areas: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R), Controls Technologies, Heating, Plumbing and Construction (HPC); Facilities Management and Contracting and IT Structured Cabling.
Note that technical knowledge of the building services industry and products is not required and any training will be provided as necessary.

Key tasks
· Log and update order records in Excel
· Acknowledge orders
· Perform invoicing and credit card transactions
· Follow up on late payment
· Perform copying and binding of one-off documents and urgent orders
· Handle incoming enquiries and provide customer service
· Provide support to other staff
· Handle customer queries and complaints
· Act as point of contact between the customer and BSRIA
· Update database and enter sales leads
· Paperwork control
· Raising of purchase orders
· Place orders with suppliers
· Exhibition/event support:
Venue and equipment booking and associated admin
Manage shipping logistics
Organise booth materials for exhibition staff
Organise booth materials for exhibition staff
Book staff travel and accommodation
Handle any associated admin
· Handle registration for events and associated admin
Person description
You should have:
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Numerical skills
· Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin)
· A clear and confident communicator, with good verbal and written skills
· Good interpersonal skills
· Computer literacy (current packages used are Microsoft Word and Excel).

Qualifications and Experience
· Commercial experience preferably (4-5 years in a similar role)
· Accounting experience is not compulsory but would be a distinct advantage
