Student internship available on video super-resolution

A student internship for a duration of up to 5-month is now available at BT's corporate Research & Venturing facilities at Adastral Park, near Ipswich, England (http://www.atadastral.co.uk/). The intern will be working on a project in the area of image and video super-resolution, researching advanced algorithms using both reconstruction-based and learning-based methods and applying them to arbitrary outdoor visual scenes or object (e.g., face, car)-based realistic surveillance video applications. The prospective candidate is ideally a 2nd or final year PhD student with related thesis topics / direction whilst having a good understanding and research experience in the domain problem. The applicant should have excellent mathematical analysis skills. In exceptional cases, an M. Eng qualified student with closely related graduation project can also be considered. In addition, he or she should have very good programming and software prototyping and implementation skills using one or more of the languages (C, C++, C#, Java Servlet / Applet, Matlab, etc) and familiarity with some imaging and vision libraries. Good communication skills in oral and written English are necessary.

The applicants must have legal working right in the UK, namely they are either an European Union citizen or a student engaging in full-time study in a UK University.

An informal telephone discussion will be arranged for selected applicants, followed by an invited interview at BT Adastral Park. The successful applicant will be paid a salary equivalent to 18,200 British Pounds (or ~27K EUR) per annum on a pro rota basis with an entitlement of generous paid holidays.
